Cara's Report Card!!

I am super proud of our little kindergartner!

A little blunt - but right on, nonetheless! I don't know why this made me smile when I read it but I hope you get a kick out of it too! Maybe the rhyming comes later? I mean, she's six years old and writes full sentences. I couldn't be prouder!

I've introduced Cara to My Girl thanks to our Netflix account - and she and I have talked a lot about Thomas J dying by bee stings. It's amazing to me how children express what they are working through in their heads. Looks like a nice bee, at least - not a swarming mass of angry-faced killer bees!

Please leave your comments on our blog so I can share and read them to Cara!

Love you all!

the Christmas Break that never ended

Cara and her finger-paints!

We paid one million dollars to see a movie (on a weeknight) because it was still considered a "holiday." Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel - so not really worth paying to see in a theatre but I think the kids occasionally need to be able to experience going to the movies. It just amazes me how much has changed since I went as a kid - I'm sure for my elders, as well!
Cara and Collin both got puzzles in their stockings. Cara's was only 100 pieces and we had a fun hour putting it together. Collin's was 500+ and we spent 2 days on it and then it sat on the kitchen table for a week unanswered. Even Mommy didn't have the courage to attempt to conquer it = no cool Cars "completed!" picture here.

And, ah, the snow. My driveway was shoveled 5 times in two weeks. I love winter and if it's going to be cold I think it should snow - but we've definitely been overly blessed this year. It was so much fun, though. Really wish it would have packed for a snowman. We had enough to build a city. Cara and Collin did attempt 3 different igloos throughout the yard - which was cool.

The kids were delayed going back to school for a week and while I almost completely lost my sanity, we managed to survive and are happily back into routine!

Pizza

Craig - this one is for you!

So, one of my New Years resolutions was to get rid of processed foods and make some sort of an attempt of putting more fruits and vegetables in our daily diet. I emailed Craig for some suggestions for dinner and the kids were so excited to make their own pizza!

Man, that salad looks AWESOME. (: Cara divided the pizza into three sections - hers was the entire bottom half...

What a couple goof balls!

I took some pictures to say thank you - hopefully I'll get to attempt the stir fry here soon!

My Winter Sunrise

I love living in the country....
So quiet... so peaceful...
Who else has such a beautiful backdrop to their life?
